Iran’s top center for Islamic unity slams Rohingya Muslims’ plight

Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, has issued a statement denouncing the merciless killing, burning alive and displacement of Myanmar Muslim minority group, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Ayatollah Araki in this statement has referred to the plight of Rohingya Muslims expressing concern over the weird silence of international bodies against the catastrophe.

Part of the message runs,” This crime is carried out by a regime whose leader is a winner of Nobel Peace Prize” and added,” Here the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought slams these shameful crimes, calls all Islamic countries to defend the rights of oppressed Rohingya Muslims, take serious measures to end the massacre and displacement of the Muslim minority in Myanmar and also punish the perpetrators and their supporters.”

Top Islamic unity center in Iran also urged international and human rights bodies, the organization of Islamic Cooperation, World Union of Resistance Scholars and all pacifists across the globe to admit their responsibility in regards to Rohingya Muslims while staying committed to Islam and all holy religions in defending the rights of oppressed people without any political manipulations.

The Message concluded with announcing the full preparation of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought to intermediate and preparing the grounds for dialogue between Muslim community and Myanmar government through the good office committee at the world forum in an attempt to provide the basis of a descent life, liberty and justice for all Myanmar citizens.
