Message of Yemeni forces strike on Abu Dhabi airport:

Ansarullah successfully shifted war out of Yemen

Yemeni and particularly Ansarullah forces in their attack on Abu Dhabi airport proved their capability to expand the war to outside Yemeni borders and capital of countries allied with Saudi.
Ansarullah successfully shifted war out of Yemen
Talal Atrissi, Lebanese political expert, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) detailed the objectives and outcomes of the Yemeni forces airstrike on UAE International Airport in the list below:

  1. It stresses capabilities of Yemeni forces, including Ansarullah, to overflow the Yemen war to other countries and reaching military bases and capitals of allies in anti-Sana’a war. In other words Yemeni forces attack on Abu Dhabi International Airport is a message for anti-Yemen governments on Ansarullah capacities to shift the Yemen war outside its borders.

  1. This strike conveys the message for UAE- which was particularly contributing to invasion against Hudaydah based on that United Arab Emirates should pay the heavy toll for its collaboration in these attacks on Sana’a the least of which has been freezing Abu Dhabi flights even temporarily.

Atrissi also referred to impacts of the attack on Abu Dhabi Airport on perpetrators of the clashes and political disputes in Yemen crisis saying,” There are two possibilities for the twin bombings; first UAE which is paying for its collaboration in atrocities against Yemen will be forced to pull back and admitting diplomatic solution and the second possibility is intensification of the clashes with Abu Dhabi not admitting political solution.

“ This is a fact that international airports in the capitals are among the economic pillars and a proof for political stability in any country” said the Lebanese political expert and added,” Therefore, if Abu Dhabi Airport is challenged with security issue or is targeted from outside then the capital and the whole country is in jeopardy.”

Talal Atrissi concluded,” Due to regular passage of millions of passengers including business men and tourists to Abu Dhabi International Airport or due to it being a transit airport to visit other countries, the key airport in UAE has been quite prosperous for the economy of the Arab country and closure of the airport even for a short time will be a great economic loss for the country.

Talal Atrissi currently works at the Faculty of Religions and Humanities, Al Maaref University. Talal has more than 30 years of higher education teaching and social sciences research experience. Currently does research in Qualitative Social Research, Social Theory and Sociological Theory. His current project is 'Iranian-Arab Relations'.
