Palestinian youths have started weeks of protest on Gaza border demanding their return to ancestral land, a demand which has been replied with live rounds, tear gas and heavy crackdown. Some have called these protests as a wake-up call to the world people and governments.
International reactions to daily killing of the protesters have been critical though not much swift. United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres expressed his deep concern for the events unfolding in the Gaza Strip and called for an independent inquiry into the violence. With some blaming Donald Trump’s embassy move as the provocation for the whole violence all stress the need for immediate move for peace process in the region.
Senior American thinker and author of Shell Game: A Whistle blowing Report, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA), has detailed his views on the issue of Palestine calling that as a tragedy and a demonstration of Zionist oppression, a truth which has gone unknown to many people across the world.
He said,” Palestine has always been a tragedy and a demonstration of the Zionist oppression. It is a genocide and holocaust that they have been putting against the Palestinian people while the world has largely been blinded and unknown to this truth.”
He noted,” Most Americans are brainwashed and don’t see or hear any of this so the embassy move that Trump made is one of the things that we all address in relation to this issue.”
American author called Donald Trump’s embassy move as a foolish one because it has inflamed all the Muslim world and the only way to really redeem it is either to claim Jerusalem belonging to no one or Jerusalem belonging to three Abrahamic faiths: the Jewish, Christians and the Muslims.
He expressed hope that Donald Trump will recognize the other parts of Jerusalem is belonging to Muslims and the Christians and not the entire city belonging to Jews.
