‘Denominations should boost common views on unity’, cleric

Senior Sunni cleric from Golestan Province stressed that followers of different Islamic denominations should reach and boost common understanding on solidarity.

Akhoond Abdullah San Sobli, Sunni Friday prayer leader of Piravash-e Sofla, in Aqqala, Golestan Province, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) highlighted importance of arriving a common view on Islamic unity among all Muslims saying lack of such agreement will hinder any other achievement among Muslims.
 
He said,” Misunderstanding of Islamic unity by different Muslim communities will worsen disagreements.”
 
The Sunni cleric called for providing the grounds for dialogue between Islamic denominations without provoking tensions.
 
He urged for constant interaction between different denominations so that convergence and proximity between all Muslims are boosted and added,” Conferences and meetings held in line with Islamic unity provide the grounds for such interactions.”
 
Akhoond San Sobli highlighted unity as a vital demand of the present world expressing regret that the worst catastrophes happen in the Islamic lands as a result of support by world arrogant powers and at the hands of the people who recognized themselves as Muslims.”
 
He added,” Leaders in the Islamic states should forget their personal interests and move towards a unity which will lead to development and honor of Islam.
