‘US policies target Syria integration’, Iranian ex-ambassador
Nusrat-ullah Tajik is a prominent political figure and former Iranian ambassador to Jordan. He has served in various state positions following the Islamic Revolution in Iran. A candidate to 10th Parliamentary election in Tehran has also served as deputy of Interior Ministry, governor of Hormozgan Province during Iraq war and also Foreign Ministry advisor. During his term as the Iranian ambassador to Jordan has been recorded as the culmination in bilateral ties between two countries since the Islamic Revolution.

Nosrat-ullah Tajik, in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA), detailed his views on the latest political situation in Syria and that the US objectives in the war-torn country are quite uncertain.

The political figure in this interview said,” Amid the present political and geopolitical disintegration in Syria, the US objectives are also uncertain when the country is taking changing and controversial stances by American authorities”

“On the other hand though, one should note that US is not in a causeless pursuit in Syria so that it leaves the battle field after a while” said the political analyst and added,” The US has launched logistical and training bases in northern and eastern parts of Syria, a fact which voids western exit from Syria.”

Reflecting on another US policy since its involvement in Syria crisis, Nosrat-ullah Tajik stressed ‘to guarantee the security of Israel’ is the other objective for Washington.

He said,” We should accept that Syria will not revive the former territories and sovereignty it used to have before 2011 since an objective, function of the US, is disintegration of Syria.”

Iranian former ambassador to Jordan referred to Washington’s confusion in regards to practicing its policies due to lack of an influential agent in Syria.

He defined the US support in a constant shuttle between Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Kurdish forces, a situation which exposes the political and field confusion of Washington in Syria.

Political expert on international issues also called Sochi talks in a major dead end since likely minor chance to settle the Syria issue has vanished due to Turkey’s aggression into Afrin.
