People in the Iranian city of Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, collectively recite the holy Qur’an in order to cover one whole reading of the book during the fasting month of Ramadan.
Sanandaj Jame’ Mosque is an architecture masterpiece of Qajar era at the heart of the city. A manifest of Qajar era architecture from early 13th century, it was built by the then-governor Aman-ullah Khan. Making use of perfect tiles and ornaments has made the mosque a unique tourist spot in the Sunni-dominated Province of Kurdistan.
