The historic bridge of Aqqala, the only bridge of Iran with brick ornaments, was designed and built during Safavid dynasty. The 800-old bridge was damaged by an unprecedented flood which hit the northern city of Aqqala in Golestan province, Iran. The Aqqala Bridge is placed 18 kilometers to the north of Gorgan and at the beginning of Gorgan River and Aq Qala city. This bridge is 74 meters in length and in both sides has refuges with 1.5 meters height and consists of four arches.
