Syria has foiled the US "new Middle East"
In an article published by AsSafir newspaper, Hoteit stressed that Syria's steadfastness and the reform process taking place in it exposed the scheme which aims at changing its strategic position as a main supporter of the resistance in the face of the Western project.

He said that the current situation in Syria reflects an international conflict between the West which tries to preserve the interests and goals it has achieved over the last century and a Middle East that has organized an effective resistance to defend its rights.

Hoteit added that the Western countries, Turkey and some Arab countries implement a scheme to undermine Syria's strategic role and to turn it into a tool serving the ambitions of the Western countries to dominate the region after their failure in undermining the resistance.

He concluded that the success of Syria and the countries supporting it in the face of armed insurgence targeting its citizens and institutions will establish a integrated eastern region expanding from Iran to Lebanon passing through Syria and Iraq that would be able to establish strategic alliances with China and Russia.
